While there have been many great things happening with my blogging, there have also been some personal struggles that I have been dealing with since 2011. These struggles have been something that only close friends and family have known about. In the summer of 2013, I felt the nudge to share my journey here on the blog, a scary assignment to say the least. For those of you who enjoy the techy or organized side of me, this will be a departure for you and I hope that you will take the ride with me as I share personal lessons learned while trying to conceive another child.
My personal struggle
At a young age I knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom, and prayed for the day when that dream would come true. When our son was born into a deep recession in 2009, I worried our family wouldn’t be able to afford me staying home. After much thought, prayer and a leap of faith, we have been blessed to have me home with more than our needs provided for.
Because I grew up in a big family, I wanted a big family of my own. My hubby and I knew the start of our family was the start of something great for us. When we were ready for another one, it was harder than we anticipated. Much harder. Trying to conceive and growing our family was not going to be as easy as we thought.
My reason for sharing
If you take the time to get to know me, you’ll find that my passions are threefold. As I’ve been around the blogosphere, and gotten to know others bloggers and their very real struggles, I was encouraged by their journey. Along the journey to growing our family, I have learned that I am not alone. I have also learned that we are not meant to struggle alone and that we should take the lessons we learn and gift it forward.
This journey we have been on lends itself to some of the key facets of this blog, family life, encouragement and gifting it forward. I knew I was meant to share our journey here with you. It is my way of healing, and if you are struggling in this area, I hope it can help give you comfort as well.
My hope for readers
My prayer for this personal series is to encourage you to see your struggle and find hope in the midst of any season you walk through. Life happens, and my hope as you read about our journey is that you learn. Learn from my struggles, my process, my victories, my defeats, my faith, my God.
The Seasons of Growing Our Family
I hope to bring you back again and again to find encouragement for yourself and gift it forward to bring comfort to others.
This is a heavy topic, but I am willing to put myself out there if it means that I can encourage even one person to see the gift in any season this life can bring. This series is just as much for me as it is for you. May my growth in love and faith serve as hope for your life and meet you in which ever season you are.
